If you're wondering when to hire an interior designer, the answer is as early as possible—ideally at least six months before beginning your home renovation. For custom homes, bringing on an architect and interior designer simultaneously ensures that every aspect of your home—from structural decisions to intricate choices like electrical placements and room styles—aligns perfectly with your vision and lifestyle. Once the design is finalized, a builder or cabinet maker can bring it all to life.

Designers are not only skilled in aesthetics, but also have deep expertise in space planning, material selection, project management, budgeting, and collaboration with trades and other design industry vendors.
Designers often have access to materials, suppliers, and fabricators not available to the general public. By working with a designer, you can have peace of mind that your project will stay on schedule, on budget, and come together with a cohesive style and design. -
I offer a flat fee structure for all design work.
Each of my projects are unique and of a different size, complexity, and scale.During our initial meeting, I will focus on understanding your goals and vision, then follow up with a detailed and transparent Proposal tailored to your specific project.
-
It’s challenging to provide an exact timeline without knowing the specifics of your project. For example, the design phase for a kitchen typically takes 4-6 weeks, whereas a complete home renovation or new build might require 6-12 months or longer. The duration depends on the project’s scope, the size of your space, and how promptly you provide design feedback.
-
I charge for consultations because they are dedicated working sessions designed to give you expert guidance tailored to your needs. This time allows me to thoroughly review your home or plans, provide actionable advice, and explore your ideas in depth. By leveraging my professional experience, I help you understand how to bring your vision to life while staying within your budget. These consultations ensure that you gain clear, practical insights and strategies to confidently move forward with your project, whether you opt for full design services or use the advice independently.
-
I typically book projects 2 - 3 months in advance. If you’re interested in working with me, fill out the Design Inquiry Form and I’ll be in touch!
-
Absolutely! I have collaborated with homeowners across Australia and the UK. Please get in touch to discuss further, as I am excited to learn more about the place you call home.
-
No. I don’t operate as a builder or general contractor, and I don’t add any margin or hidden costs to your construction quotes or supplier invoices.
My role is to provide expert design guidance and documentation to help you get the best outcomes for your project — not to profit from your build costs.
I charge a clear and transparent design fee for my time, experience, and expertise only. Construction costs are always separate and paid directly by you to the suppliers, trades, builders, or cabinet makers you choose to work with.
Once we’ve worked through the design together, you’ll receive a Design Package. As a minimum this includes:
A Schedule of Finishes
2D Floor Plans
Wall Elevations
These documents allow you to obtain accurate quotes from the relevant professionals and confidently move forward with your renovation, build or decoration project. I can help you coordinate these quotes - because I speak the construction language and have designed the home for you. I know what trades you need for your renovation or build, so I find this speeds up the quoting process and gathers quotes from reputable trades without any delays, stress or hassle for you!
-
My calendar allows space for Consultations each week/fortnight. Please get in touch via Client Enquiry Form to tell me a bit about your project and needs. I’ll then be in touch to discuss and if we are a good fit for your project then we will arrange a paid Consultation.
